Where to Learn German

There are many options available to learn German. Personally I studied through my University and then decided to apply directly on my own. If you know enough German applying directly is much cheaper as German Universities charge only 500 Euros per semester while my American University was charging at least 6000 per semester.

Here are some of the options that I have found:

Courses through an Institution
The Goethe-Institut (GI) offers language courses and examinations for German as a foreign language at 16 institutes in Germany and 127 cultural centres in 78 countries abroad:

Courses through a University
German universities offer many summer courses in the summer.

Learning on the internet
Online options are available. My favorite free option is german.about.com. Here you can go through a basic german course. They also have many different lists of vocabulary and exercises.

Online course for German as a scientific language as preparation for a university course is also an option.
