German Job Interview, 6 steps to success

By Nick | Jun 19, 2007

What I have learned in my experience is the following.

1. Dress Well – It is important to be well dressed for an interview
2. When they offer a drink take water – you don’t want to be an alcoholic or spill something on yourself do you?
3. Firm handshake – not too tight, not too lose, practice with someone
4. Know the firm you are interviewing for – Do your research!
5. Ask questions – Taxes are high in Germany, you want to know what the net pay will be
6. Ask if they cover the trip – It is normal to ask if your trip to the interview is paid for

This are the six steps to success for a German job interview (knowing the language helps tremendously!)
