Working in Germany, Challenges, Problems

By Nick | Jun 23, 2007

It might sound like a fun adventure to work in Germany, but honestly it isn’t at all easy. There are a few things to realize before comming here.
1. It is hard to find a job, due to language barriers
2. There is a lot of paperwork… Most companies do not want to deal with you and would rather hire someone within the European Union.
3. There is an option called contract work. This means that you are just selling the company a service. However, through this method you won’t get any health insurance and no guarantee of long term employment.

My advice: Research well in advance and make sure you have some kind of support network before comming over to Germany and thinking that it is going to be really easý, because it will be a challenge and you will have to make sacrafices. If you are still ready to accept the challenge, I wish you viel Gluck!
