Exchange Rate, Worse for an American in Germany
Living in Germany during a dramastic downfall in the exchange rate can really effect how expensive everything in Europe is. I remember the times before the exchange rate for dollar vs the euro was not that bad.

During the year 2006 when the world cup was held in Germany the exchange rate was 1.2 dollars to 1 euro. Things were not quite so bad.

Look at the year 2007, the Euro started at 1.3 dollars to one Euro. As the summer went on, the situation with the exchange rate in the USA just got worse. Now its 1.41 dollars to 1 euro. Even the canadian dollar was worth more over the weekend.

I feel so Poor
Watching the exchange rate between the dollar and the euro is like a measure of how much money I have. Since I convert all my US dollars to Euros I care about the exchange rate. When I order food that costs 10 euros, I have already converted that in my head to be 14 dollars. The germans must be loving the exchange rate!
