Important Laws in Germany

By Nick | Sep 16, 2007

Germany loves having laws. It keeps order and almost everything you can think of has a law to it. Most Germans consider this both a blessing and a problem.

Bike Riding
Ride your bike on the street when its reasonable. If you are riding on the sidewalk, ride with traffic and not against. If you ride your bike the wrong direction expect to get a 25 euro ticket.

Walking
Don’t just cross the street anywhere you please. You must cross and the designated crossing walks. It is also important to wait for the ample man when its red, even if there are no cars comming. Failure to do so may result in a 10 Euro ticket.

Driving
Make sure to follow all traffic signs. When you are waiting for a train, turn off your engine. Any periods of waiting you need to turn off your engine (environmental reasons).
Make sure you are always wearing your seatbelt. Strangely enough, passengers are allowed to drink in the car while the driver is driving.
