Before moving into a WG (Wohngemeinschaft) that has multiple roommates, you will usually have to interview before moving into a German Apartment. The people living in the apartment make a selection process and interview multiple people before selecting the best candidate for moving into the apartment. They want some who fits their “profile”. Someone they would like having around in their Apartment, and someone who is not going to cause any trouble.
The Interview Process
The whole process is a lot like American Idol, they will make an opinion about you based on your visit.
1. First you will set up an appointment to be shown the apartment.
2. When you come for the interview expect all the roommates to be present.
3. After meeting each one, you will be shown around the apartment and given time to ask questions.
4. They will then say they will call you, and let you know what they have decided.
