Halloween in Germany

Though it wasn’t always a tradition in Germany, it has become adopted from American Halloween traditions. There will be Halloween, people will dress up, and some kids will even go Trick or Treating (though its not quite so common). Sadly I’ve never really experienced a Halloween in Germany, but from what I have heard, it still doesn’t quite compare to what happens in the United States.

“Pumpkin Festival in Dormagen
Between Dusseldorf and Cologne, Pumpkin Island in Dormagen is a fun destination for pumpkin lovers. People come from all over Germany to the Pumpkin festival here where visitors can check out jack-o-lanterns of all types.
Eastern German Halloween
The Belantis Leisure Park near Leipzig Germany celebrates Halloween with spooks, mummies, vampires and witches from October 15-October 31. Go dragon riding, visit the Dungeon of Dread, or watch the horror show featuring the Prince of Darkness. Children under 4′9 wearing a costume and bringing a jack-o-lantern get in free and others pay 18.50 euros.
Halloween Festival in Europa Park
Europa Park puts on a great Halloween festival frtom October 27-November 4. 120,000 pumpkins decorate the grounds and there is a Halloween parade followed by light-laser fireworks. There will be parties around the grounds on Halloween night.”
