I’ve never played that many sports in Germany, one reason being that many sports cost quite a bit of money to play. Tennis is included. The only sport you can really play for free seems to be soccer (football). Most sports involve joining a club. Such is the case if you want to play tennis. You will have to pay each time you want to get on the court. Is this terrible? Of course I’m used to the American system where you can play tennis for free, but at least joining a Tennis club in Germany means meeting other Tennis players and having a little fun.

Other sports?
The other sports do exist and there are even national teams. This includes Baseball, Hockey, and of definately Soccer (football). It is hard to go into a bar on the weekend and not see a football match playing on the television.
