It is finally that day, New Years eve and soon will be the New Years countdown. The biggest question is, what are the Germans doing for their New Years Countdown.
1. Fireworks
As I write this post, I hear fireworks coming from every which direction. Why? The three days before New Years are the only days that Germans can buy fireworks. As you walk down a street in Germany, you can’t go even a few hours without hearing a firecracker explode near you.
2. Berlin New Years Countdown
One of the biggest New Years Countdowns happens in Berlin. There are fireworks, music, and TV screens every years at the Brandenburger Toer. If there is an event to watch in Germany, it is in Berlin.
3. Berlin Alexanderplatz
Other might argue that Alexander Platz is just an equal place to see the celebration. Here there is a large clock right on the Red Rathaus that also rings in the New Years. Stick to Alexanderplatz if you are looking to avoid the huge crowds over at the Branderburger Toer. Either way you will be able to see the fireworks.
