Hospital Stay in Germany, German Hospitals

By admin | Mar 27, 2008

Going to Germany and expecting a hospital stay or worried about the hospitals in Germany?  German Hospital are just like those in the United States.  However, there are a few differences to keep in mind.

1. Privacy – Germans don’t seem to care about privacy like those hospitals in the US.  If you really care about it, bring your own gown, most likely you won’t get one in Germany.

2. Meals – Looking forward to a big breakfast?  Keep in mind that breakfast in Germany is usually quite small.  Typically its rolls, jogurt, and a boiled egg.

3. Hospital Stay- Germans stay in the hospital much longer than Americans.  While Americans are usually concerned with the high costs and get out ASAP, Germans take their time and will stay longer to get better.

4. Gifts – Make sure to leave a little thank you gift for the nurses when you leave!
