Looking to learn German in Germany? Here are a few options for learning German directly in Germany. These are also some of the cheapest options I’ve found.
Volkhochschule
The Volkhochschule is more like a community college. They offer courses that anyone can take, without a University Diploma. Courses are usually about 7.50 euros per class hour. They offer German courses from beginner to advanced.
The University
Though not everyone can take courses directly on a German University without acceptance. Anyone can study German in German Summer programs as well as German study programs. Most Universities offer courses such as beginner German all the way to advanced German. Keep in mind that even though you will be studying at the University, you won’t be considered a student of the University.
Private German Schools
You might also want to consider studying German at a private school. Schools like the Goethe Institute are focused eon teaching students German. They offer also a variety of certificates. The Goethe Institute is even an option for learning German in the United States without having to fly to Germany. Another option also might be a Sprach Instituet (speaking institute).
