At the top of the list of best selling cars in Germany for 2007 is
1. the VW Golf and the Passat.

While the top selling brands of cars continue to be:
1. Volkswagen and Mercedes

Germany takes pride in Germany cars which is one reason why Volkswagen keeps its top position as leading car manufacturer.

However, one that was able to increase in cars sold was Skoda. Skoda is a German subsidiary of Volkswagen located in the Czech Republic. They were able to sell .1% more cars, or 159. Not a large figure, yet their ability to maintain a large presence in the German market may be their lower price tag, yet familiarity to Germany made Volkswagen cars.

Skoda was the only one of the top 10 manufacturers to actually increase the number of cars sold in Germany in 2007. Skoda’s increased sales of 0.1% came to a rather minor increase of 159 cars. In contrast, Volkswagen’s domestic sales fell by over 80,000 cars.
