Germany television is almost always in German, of course except for two channels, BBC World and CNN. Keep in mind that if you don’t know German, you are going to be more than lost. Germany is large enough where it translates everything into German. This includes television shows from America, movies from around the world, and of course even Germany’s own version of popular shows like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Next Top Model, and of course American Idol.

Germany has tried to create it’s own television series, but smaller countries like Germany, just don’t have the Hollywood income to create blockbuster television shows and movies.

English options for television in Germany
Don’t understand German, but still need your daily television dosage? Don’t worry there are still a few options to still get your regular television fix.
1.Try a sling box. I’ve got a sling box connected to my television in the United States that allows me to watch tv from the United States even while I’m in Germany, just as long as I have a fast internet connection at home and in Germany.
2. If you are going to be living in Germany for an extended period, consider getting a satellite dish. You’ll be able to connect to television in the United Kingdom which shows all of it’s programming in English.
