Why the US Euro Exchange Rate is so Bad

For those spending US dollars in Germany, you know that the US Euro Exchange rate is bad.  Two years ago I was spending $1.20 to buy one euro, but since then the course has so dramatically changed, that as of March 6, 2008 it cost nearly US $1.53 to buy one euro.

As you can see on the graph from x-rates, the exchange has only been getting worse, setting record rates.  Each day seems to be a new record of the Euro’s worth against the dollar. Can it get worse? Yes, here is why.

First it was the housing crisis of the US (houses were overvalued) now it is the imminent recession that even a tax refund from George W Bush most likely can’t prevent.  Figures predict the US Euro exchange rate hitting as low as $1.55 this month.
