
Family Life in Germany, can be explained simply as similar to life of the USA. Clothes styles are similar, Fathers in Germany enjoy watching sports, and the family likes to stay close together. Parents in Germany seems more likely to drink a wine or beer with their children as the legal drinking age is 16.
German Families seem to be having less and less children as the bithrate is diminishing. Currently the death rate is higher than the birthrate resulting in a shrinking population. The German Government in noticing the shrinking family life, created, on 1 January 2001 new legislation governing child-raising benefit came into force, entitling both parents to apply for child-raising leave simultaneously and spend up to 30 hours a week in part-time work.
In regards to Same Sex Couple families in Germany, they too can register to legally be married.
