When you go shopping in Germany you might feel like finding deals is next to impossible. Everything seems to cost more when shopping in Germany, as well as after you add an exchange rate of around $1.30 per euro, costs can really stack up against you.
A few places to find the best shopping deals:
Flohmarkt (flea market) = One man’s trash is another man’s treasure and in this case, what might be usual to a Germany will be your bargain. Most German cities have a flohmarkt and its the place where people gather to sell their old stuff. Make sure to walk slowly and be prepared to bargain for deals. Pick something up and if they name a price say it’s too expensive. They probably will renegotiate the price.
Things I look for: 1) Beer Glasses 2) Shot Glasses. I’ve managed to walk out with nice Beer glasses for as little as 50 euros cents per glass. My collection? Bigger ever time I come to Germany.
H and M – (Germans call it Hah und M by pronunciation) it is probably one of the cheapest clothing shops in Germany and it offers prices comparable to that of in the USA.
Woolworth - Woolworth offers some of the best deals in Germany for being a department store.
A typical Flohmarkt….
