Christmas Market in Germany, German Christmas Markets

By admin | Nov 15, 2008

Christmas in Germany is coming soon, which means times for Christmas Markets to open!  German Christmas markets are when people gather in the city center usually by the rathaus (mayor office) and open a litle market selling goods like hot Christmas wine (gluwein), different sweets, and even small gifts.  Children can drink punch instead of the gluwein.

Most major towns and cities have a Christmas market.  It really puts the town into the spirit of Christmas and lets Germans eat a lot of candies and sweets.
