How to Watch American TV in Germany

By admin | Nov 8, 2008

If don’t speak German and come to Germany, you might find yourself missing out on American TV, since let’s face it, in Germany the only America TV channel they have is CNN.  Now Germany does have MTV with some programs in English with German subtitles, but not too many.  Lucky enough I have a few ideas how you can watch American TV in Germany.

1. TVUPlayer – TVUPlayer is an internet tv program coming from China that streams quite a few American TV Channels.   American Channels using this program I have been able to watch include: Fox News, CBS, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Sci Fi Channel, and once in awhile I have seen Fox on the channel list.

It’s overall a great program and an easy way to catch American TV Online.

2.  Hulu.com – Hulu is a great way to rewatch episodes you’ve missed while abroad.  Now you might notice that you get an error message saying that you can not view this channel while in Germany.  Lucky enough I’ve found an easy hack around this. Simply follow this guide (link).

3. If these two options didn’t do it, I’d recommend trying a free trial with Graboid.com.  This seems to be the best way to download movies and tv shows online.
