Constantly the cheapest airport I’ve found to fly to has almost always been in Frankfurt Germany. Compared to most other airports, besides sometimes Dublin, Frankfurt has offered some of the fewest taxes on airplanes making it my major destination hub into Europe.
Traveling from Frankfurt to Europe
Once you reach Frankfurt in Germany there are plenty of ways to reach the rest of Europe. Frankfurt offers trains, buses, and even cheap airlines like Ryan Air and Germany Wings fly there. Keep in mind that most fly into the neighboring city of Hahn, not actually in Frankfurt, which is about an hour and a half by bus.
Frankfurt itself might be worth a stop since they offer a nice view of the Main river as well as lots of delicious Apfel Wein (Apple Wine).
