
There have been formal complaints from Germany against YouTube. Many of these Germany complaints against YouTube are from copyrighted material being uploaded from German bands such as the Toten Hosen. Germany’s complaints brings up a global issue with YouTube. How can it control copyright issues with clips around the globe? YouTube can be access by anyone anywhere, so how can YouTube prevent getting sued in countries like Germany?
Currently those claiming copyright in Germany have asked for both the uploaders and downloaders of copyrighted material to be identified. Can YouTube actually identify everyone who’s viewed those videos?
