Scams While Traveling Germany

By admin | Oct 13, 2009

There are a few scams out there that you may experience while traveling in Germany.  I’ve witnessed quite a few during my travels in Germany and the rest of the world.  Be sure to remember a couple of these rules before doing your trip through Germany.

Scams to Avoid in Germany
1. Rent a cell scam – rent-a-cell phone company gives you a free SIM card for 2 weeks and you will get massive charges on your account.
2. Taxi Scams in Germany – Make sure the taxameter is running.  Try only to take beige colored official taxis.
3. Drink scam – you order a drink and it turns out to be really expensive.  Always make sure to ask the price before you order.

Overall Germany isn’t full of too many scammers.  I haven’t had too much happen and you shouldn’t be worried.  Just make sure to always watch your luggage.
