Hamburg in Germany is a city of both the fast and future. Hamburg was a port for past immigration with in fact over 5 million people leaving the port of Hamburg to set sail for the new world. Between the year 1850 and 1939 Hamburg had a harbor full of those looking to leave Europe and set sail for a new life. Hamburg still contains the original halls of emigration, as well as passenger lists to see if maybe your ancestors left this port.
Attractions within Hamburg include a building known as Hafencity. This is one of the largest urban building projects in all of Europe for the 21st century. This harbor project alone could double the population of Hamburg. it will add new apartments, stores, restaurants, all with one of the best views in teh city. Don’t expect to see this completed in Hamburg anytime soon. It’s planned date of being finished is 2025.
