Germany Birth Rate Declining

By admin | Jan 31, 2010

It seems the birth rate in Germany is on the decline.  With less children being born, there is no sure future for giving birth in Germany.  Statistics expect that by 2060 the German population will decrease by 20 million people.

They contribute this declining birth rate to women with univeristy degrees simply not having children at all.  In fact a figure like 40% is how many women actually don’t have kids at all of those that have a university degree.

Writer Susan Klingers said “We Germans need to rethink our attitude to children.” “If we think that children and mothers should be forced to be together, and people have to be financially covered before they consider having kids, then it’s no wonder that fewer children are being born.”
