One of the best parts of life in Germany is the low cost airlines that Germany offers. There are plenty of low cost airline options like Ryan Air, German Wings, and Easy Jet.
However something to keep in mind when using these low cost airlines is that often than not the so called city they are located in is not the actually city, but a city even 50 to 100 km away. Take for instance Ryan Air which “flys to Frankfurt”. While in fact they actually fly to a neighboring city called Hahn which is 1 hour away by bus. It’s nowhere near Frankfurt.
Also keep in mind these low cost airlines are full of hidden fews, like charges for bagging, check-in, and insurance. They can be a great deal, but keep in mind the “catches”. You probably won’t fly directly into the cities main airport, and there are plenty of little hidden fees.
